Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee for our Mass Spec team in Burlington, NC. This role offers New Grads welcome with full training provided and a Tuesday-Saturday 2:00pm-10:30pm schedule.

You will perform routine and complex procedures, troubleshoot instruments, and contribute to timely patient test results. A bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology is required; ASCP/AMT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science, CLIA-related field, or Medical Technology.
• Understanding of laboratory operations, policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Proficient with computers; familiar with laboratory information systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper function.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE adherence.
