Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation is seeking an Administrative Transportation Coordinator M-2 to serve as the Senior Director of Maspeth Central Operations. This role provides executive leadership for Highway Signs, Street Furniture, Pavement Markings, and related programs citywide, ensuring safe, efficient transportation and maintenance services.

You will direct planning, budgeting, and capital projects, collaborate across divisions, and lead a diverse team.

Qualifications

• Five years of related traffic engineering or urban transportation planning experience with at least two years in an administrative capacity and two years in the United States.
• Two-year master's degree in transportation planning, traffic engineering, or related area with three years of satisfactory full-time experience including administrative leadership.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with at least two years of administrative experience managing engineering and technical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Direct planning, development, implementation and evaluation of operational programs and maintenance activities.
• Establish operational priorities, performance objectives, and resource allocation strategies.
• Collaborate with planning, engineering, construction and policy units on capital projects and Vision Zero initiatives.
• Develop and administer the unit's budget and monitor performance indicators.
