Job description

ArborScape Inc. is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Mason Tender to join our team for the upcoming season (April to November). This role offers the opportunity to work outdoors on a variety of exciting projects, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to the creation of beautiful, lasting landscapes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Mason with all aspects of stone masonry projects, including preparing materials, mixing mortar, and transporting materials to the work site.
• Operate equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and 1-ton dump trucks; trailering experience is a plus.
• Perform masonry tasks under supervision, including laying stone, cobble, reclaimed granite, edging, building walls, and creating patios.
• Independently complete smaller masonry projects as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site at all times.
• Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with the Lead Mason and other team members to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in masonry and equipment operation required.
• Proven ability to operate excavators, skid steers, and 1-ton dump trucks.
• Basic understanding of different stone types and their uses.
• Familiarity with stone masonry skills, including mixing and applying mortar, laying various types of stone (fieldstone, flagstone, pavers), and building stone structures.
• Ability to safely use stone saws, grinders, sledgehammers, transits, chisels, feather and wedge, and various hand tools.
• Physically able to lift heavy objects, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, professional environment.
• Motivation to learn, attention to detail, and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful landscapes.
