Job summary

Paycom - ATS in New York is seeking a Mason Tender to support masons on site, prepare surfaces, unload materials, and maintain a clean, safe work area. You will assist with cutting bricks and assembling scaffolding to meet job specs.

This is a full-time, year-round role with benefits; candidates should have 2+ years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions outdoors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience supporting masons on the job.
• Experience preparing and cleaning job sites and transporting materials.
• Experience mixing mortar and maintaining tools; ability to build/take down scaffolding.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to work in varying conditions outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Support masons and keep work area stocked.
• Unload pallets of brick, block and stone.
• Maintain a clean work environment and finish surfaces after work.
• Cut bricks for corners, arches and patterns as needed.
• Prepare surfaces for laying brick, block or stone and temp mortar on board.
• Assist with scaffolding setup and safety tagging.
• Assist with wall ties, flashings and papers to spec.
• Joint the wall and train new laborers in responsibilities.

Job description

As a Mason Tender you will support the job by staying stay two steps ahead of the masons so the \"brickies\" never have to stop laying. Job duties include but not limited to:Support masons and keep work area stockedUnloading pallets of brick, block and/or stoneMaintain a clean work environmentCleaning finished work surface: including but not limited to power washing, scrubbingLearn to cut bricks as needed for corners, arches and complex patternsPrepares surfaces for laying brick, block, or stoneKeeping mortar temped on the boardCut and provide rebar as neededAssemble/Disassemble scaffold to meet safety and job requirements (learn tag safety)Assists masons with installation of wall ties, flashings and papers to job specificationsJointing the wallAssisting with training new laborers to learn and understand job responsibilitiesWhat we offer:Full time permanent position with year round work (40+hrs a week)Career growth and ability to learn from experienced professionalsSkills training, safety training, and company lunchesBenefits: PTO, Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and 401k with match.Requirements:2 or more years experience supporting and helping Masons on the job.Experience with preparing & cleaning job sites, transporting materials including brick, block and/or stone, mixing mortar, maintaining tools, build / take down scaffolding, and sawing.Experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus.Experience working in various conditions, including wet, cold, heat, rapidly changing environments, near moving mechanical parts, at heights, and in outdoor weather conditions.Ability to work with other Tenders, Laborers, and Masons.Vehicle and valid drivers’ license.
