Job summary

Brawdy Construction Company in Clarence Center, NY is hiring a Mason Helper to support masons on the job site. This full-time position offers year-round work and hands-on training in brick, block, and stone installation. You will unload materials, prep surfaces, assist with scaffolding, and help with cleaning and safety tasks.

Local travel to the jobsite is expected; valid driver's license preferred. We provide benefits including PTO, holidays, medical/dental/vision, life insurance, and a 401k

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience supporting and helping masons on the job.
• Preparing & cleaning job sites, transporting materials including brick, block and/or stone, mixing mortar, maintaining tools, build/take down scaffolding, and sawing.
• Heavy equipment operation is a plus.
• Experience working in various conditions: wet, cold, heat, outdoors, near moving parts.

Responsibilities

• Support masons and keep work area stocked.
• Unload pallets of brick, block and/or stone.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Clean finished surfaces (power washing, scrubbing).
• Learn to cut bricks for corners, arches and patterns.
• Prepare surfaces for laying brick, block, or stone.
• Keep mortar temperature controlled on the board.
• Cut and provide rebar as needed.
• Assemble/disassemble scaffold to meet safety and job requirements.
• Assist masons with wall ties, flashings and papers to specs.
• Joint the wall.
• Assist training of new laborers.

Responsibilities

• Support masons and keep work area stocked
• Unloading pallets of brick, block and/or stone
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Cleaning finished work surface: including but not limited to power washing, scrubbing
• Learn to cut bricks as needed for corners, arches and complex patterns
• Prepares surfaces for laying brick, block, or stone
• Keeping mortar temped on the board
• Cut and provide rebar as needed
• Assemble/Disassemble scaffold to meet safety and job requirements (learn tag safety)
• Assists masons with installation of wall ties, flashings and papers to job specifications
• Jointing the wall
• Assisting with training new laborers to learn and understand job responsibilities

• Vehicle and valid drivers’ license.
