Job summary

D & S Masonry, Inc. is seeking a full-time on-site Mason in Lake Orion, MI. You will lay brick, stone, and cement blocks, construct and repair walls, foundations, and decorative masonry elements, and assist with renovations and restorations.

Reading blueprints and applying mortars will be daily tasks in a demanding outdoor environment. You will work with project supervisors and other trades, maintain tools, and uphold safety and quality standards on every job site.

Qualifications

• Strong masonry skills with experience in structural and decorative work.
• Proficiency with cement mixing, pouring, finishing.
• Hands-on brickwork experience: laying, cutting, and pointing bricks.
• Stone-working capabilities: cutting, shaping, setting natural or manufactured stone.
• Renovation/restoration project experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and measurements.
• Knowledge of job-site safety practices and OSHA guidelines.
• Physical ability for manual labor outdoors in varying conditions.
• Experience in commercial or residential construction preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or masonry apprenticeship a plus.

Responsibilities

Role Description

Daily tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints, mixing and applying mortars and grouts, setting and aligning materials, and ensuring quality, safety, and structural integrity on job sites. The Mason will collaborate with project supervisors and other trades, maintain tools and equipment, and help keep the work area safe and organized.
