Job summary

Mason City Schools is hiring a Custodian for the Mason Early Childhood Center. The position covers cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming and dusting and maintaining assigned areas, with an 8-hour shift from 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, pass criminal background checks, be able to lift over 50 lbs, have reliable transportation, and maintain good attendance. Salary ranges from $19.31 to $28.05 per hour depending on experience.

• Follow a daily schedule of cleaning furniture, shades, drapes, windows, restrooms, doors and storage areas, etc. as assigned
• Report in writing to administration anything observed that may need repair or maintenance
• Responsible for securing the building at night
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or head custodian

• Responsible for securing the building at night.
• Shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or head custodian.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Must have a high school diploma or GED

• Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift in excess of 50 lbs on a routine and ongoing basis
• Must have reliable transportation to travel between buildings/departments
• Must a proven history of good attendance
