Job summary

Mason City Schools is seeking a reliable 1st shift Custodian for the Mason Early Childhood Center. This full-time role covers cleaning, maintenance, and security duties on a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to pass BCI/FBI checks, and the ability to lift over 50 lbs. Salary ranges from $19.31 to $28.05 per hour depending on experience. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass BCI and FBI background checks.
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, squat and lift over 50 lbs.
• Reliable transportation between buildings.
• Good attendance history.

Responsibilities

• Follow a daily cleaning schedule including sweeping, vacuuming and dusting in all areas.
• Clean furniture, shades, drapes, windows, restrooms, doors and storage areas as assigned.
• Report in writing anything needing repair or maintenance to administration.
• Secure the building at night.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or head custodian.
