Weber State University is seeking a MARS Intern to assist advanced materials research at the MARS Center in Clearfield, Utah. You will fabricate parts, prepare specimens, perform experiments, collect and analyze data, and prepare summary reports as part of the internship.

The role requires an engineering or related STEM major, hands-on shop tools experience, CAD skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Some CAD, coding, and Microsoft Office familiarity are beneficial.

Job Summary/Basic Function

The intern will assist MARS staff to research tasks related to advanced materials fabrication and development. Among other responsibilities, the intern will fabricate parts, prepare test specimens, perform experiments, collect and analyze data, and prepare summary reports.

Required Qualifications

The intern will preferably be majoring in Engineering or another related STEM field. Shop tool experience (mill and lather preferred), additive manufacturing, composite materials, CAD experience, coding, Microsoft office. Self-motivated, able to commute to MARS Center in Clearfield, Utah, capable of lifting 50 pounds overhead.
