Job summary

Walmart seeks a Senior Director of Communications to lead strategic media relations and executive engagement, driving organizational reputation and issue management. The role oversees global teams across the Marketplace Communications function within Global Communications.

You will shape storytelling, oversee messaging standards, and advance Walmart Marketplace as a differentiated, tech-enabled platform. Expect collaboration across many business units and a focus on growth and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or related field.
• 6+ years' experience in journalism, communications, or relevant area OR 8 years' experience with 2 years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Shape a compelling narrative around seller opportunities, omnichannel advantage, and marketplace innovation.
• Position Walmart Marketplace as a differentiated, tech-enabled platform built on trust and scale.
• Advise senior leaders on messaging to strengthen competitive positioning in a changing retail landscape.
• Drive proactive media strategies highlighting milestones, seller success stories, and platform innovation.
• Secure thought leadership opportunities to position Walmart as a global leader in omnichannel retail.
• Amplify growth initiatives across earned, owned, executive, and digital channels.
• Mobilize cross-functional teams at scale through strategic leadership.
