Job summary

Shepley Bulfinch in Hartford, CT is seeking a Marketing Writer who can translate complex architectural concepts into compelling content. You will draft proposals, thought leadership pieces, awards, briefs, project narratives, presentations, and website copy.

Work with Business Development and Marketing Communications to uphold the firm’s voice, maintain editorial quality, and support client relationships and growth. Hybrid role across multiple studio locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, PR, Architecture, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional writing, editing, or content development.
• Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Ability to write for multiple audiences and formats.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent interviewing and information-gathering skills.
• Ability to synthesize complex information into concise and engaging narratives.

Responsibilities

• Develop first drafts of proposals and pursuit content.
• Write thought leadership articles, award submissions, conference submissions and briefs.
• Create project narratives, presentations and website copy.
• Support editorial quality through copy editing, proofreading and QA processes.

Shepley Bulfinch is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Writer to support both our Business Development and Marketing Communications teams. While this position is advertised as being based in Hartford, CT, we are considering candidates for hybrid roles at any of our five studio locations.

This role is ideal for a versatile communicator who can translate complex architectural, planning, and design concepts into compelling, audience-focused content. The Writer will be responsible for developing first drafts of proposal and pursuit content, thought leadership articles, award submissions, conference submissions and briefs, project narratives, presentations, website copy, and other strategic communications. The position will also play a key role in maintaining editorial quality across the Firm by supporting copy editing, proofreading, and quality assurance/quality control processes that uphold the Shepley Bulfinch brand. In this role, you'll be a trusted partner to both the Business Development and Marketing Communications teams, producing content that strengthens client relationships, wins new work, and advances the Firm's voice in the industries and communities we serve.
