Job description

Liebert Cassidy Whitmore (LCW) is a California based law firm serving as trusted advisors to public agencies, educational institutions, and nonprofits for more than 65 years. With more than 120+ attorneys across five offices, LCW is seeking a Marketing Technology Operations Specialist for its Los Angeles Office to support the firm's Marketing & Training Department.

The Marketing Technology Operations Specialist supports the Marketing & Training Department's day-to-day operations across a range of software tools, including the firm's website, the Liebert Library subscriber platform, the CRM and department databases, webinar/event platforms for Practice Group programs, and the new webinar moderator vendor. The role requires the skill set to work confidently across these programs, train and support department staff on them, track performance through site and digital analytics, and identify practical ways AI can improve department workflows. This role is for someone who understands how marketing, training, and business development actually use these tools, not a programming or database-engineering position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the department's technology systems, including user permissions, workflows, integrations, and system documentation.
  • Administer the Liebert Library platform: monitor functionality with the web developer, maintain and update the Model Policies collection at least annually, provide customer service support to subscribers, perform usage analytics and adjust as needed, and grow the subscriber base.
  • Administer the firm's website: monitor for issues and work with the web developer to resolve them, perform site analytics and adjust as needed, and manage search engine optimization and AI discoverability tools.
  • Manage the department's CRM (NEXL) and other departmental databases, including training staff on proper database-update procedures and monitoring their work until they are approved to make updates independently.
  • Serve as the department's liaison to CRM and other software vendors on technical issues, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Co-coordinate approximately 12 assigned Practice Group webinars annually — serve as registration point person, provide starting material to presenters, create Zoom/ShareFile/evaluation/MCLE forms, format and distribute materials to attendees and presenters, handle client service questions, and run financial analytics on programs.
  • Serve as the department's primary point of contact for the third-party webinar moderator vendor, ensuring the platform functions correctly and training all department members who conduct trainings or provide training materials on its use — including scheduling, moderating, uploading materials, and the MCLE process — so anyone in the department can speak to how the process works when interacting with clients; step in as a backup moderator when technical issues arise or a particular training falls outside the vendor's coverage.
  • Provide internal technical support to department staff, including AI tools and applications provided by the Firm; research and evaluate emerging AI tools relevant to the department's work, and recommend how they could improve department workflows and efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze the firm's digital analytics, including market placement and newsletter engagement tracking.
  • Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Quick learner with strong software aptitude, able to pick up and operate new platforms — website, CRM, databases, event/webinar tools — independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of how these platforms support the department's marketing, training, and business-development goals, able to connect day-to-day platform work to outcomes like subscriber growth, program registration, and client service.
  • Working knowledge of CRM and database platforms (e.g., NEXL), able to train other staff on proper use and review their work for accuracy.
  • Familiarity with website content administration and SEO/discoverability tools, able to identify issues and coordinate fixes with an outside web developer.
  • Comfort supporting AI tools and general technology troubleshooting for non-technical staff, able to translate technical issues into plain-language guidance.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple concurrent technical projects and deadlines.
  • Sound judgment, able to work independently and exercise discretion with confidential or sensitive department, client, and subscriber data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to work effectively with attorneys, staff, vendors, and outside Liebert Library subscribers.
Education and Experience
  • Experience supporting or administering software platforms, such as a website, CRM, or database system is required, ideally within a marketing, training, or business-operations environment; a Bachelor's degree is preferred, in any field.
  • Experience administering a CRM platform and/or client or contact databases is required.
  • Experience with website content management and SEO/analytics tools is preferred.
  • Experience supporting webinar or event-technology platforms is a plus.
  • Programming, scripting, or SQL/database-query experience is not required.
  • Experience supporting marketing, training, or business-development operations is a plus.
Typical Essential Functions

The following essential functions are typical of functions which the individual occupying this position must perform unaided. A qualified person with a disability may request a modification or adjustment of the job or work environment (a reasonable accommodation), which the Firm will attempt to provide, unless undue hardship would result.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, in person, by telephone, and by email.
  • Access, input, retrieve, and troubleshoot information using a computer and various software and database systems to produce accurate work.
  • Read and review technical documentation, system permissions, and website/database content for accuracy.
  • Move about the office as needed throughout the workday to attend meetings and coordinate with staff and vendors.
  • Sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation.
  • Operate standard office and computer equipment.

In addition to being able to perform the various functions, a Liebert Cassidy Whitmore employee will be required to have certain personal and professional attributes, so as to meet the skill, experience, education, physical, medical, safety, and other job related requirements established by the Firm for this position.

This job description outlines the primary responsibilities and qualifications for the role. It is not intended to be all-inclusive. Duties and responsibilities may evolve over time to meet the needs of the firm, and any adjustments will be communicated and supported accordingly.
