Job summary

Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is a national law firm delivering sophisticated legal counsel across industries and geographies. We seek a Marketing Technology Leader who will own the technology roadmap, govern data quality, and oversee core platforms including CRM, email marketing, and CMS.

You will partner with marketing, BD, IT, and vendors to drive adoption, improve reporting, and enable targeted campaigns that support the firm's growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years in marketing technology, ops, CRM, or related roles, preferably in legal/professional services.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM, email marketing, CMS, analytics, and related platforms.
  • Ability to translate business needs into practical tech workflows and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Own marketing technology roadmap to support marketing, BD, communications, and client engagement.
  • Oversee platforms: CRM, email marketing, website CMS, analytics; manage configuration, access, upgrades and integrations.
  • Lead CRM strategy, adoption, data governance, reporting, and process improvement across departments.
  • Manage projects from requirements through training, rollout, and ongoing optimization.

Responsibilities:
Marketing Technology Strategy & Roadmap
  • Develop and maintain a marketing technology roadmap that supports the firm's marketing, business development, communications, and client engagement priorities.
  • Evaluate current and future marketing technology needs and recommend practical solutions that improve efficiency, data quality, user adoption, and reporting.
  • Partner with the Director of Marketing and other Marketing & Business Development leaders to translate business needs into clear technology priorities, requirements, and implementation plans.
  • Monitor developments in legal marketing technology and recommend opportunities to modernize tools, workflows, and platform usage.
Platform Ownership & Administration
  • Serve as the primary business owner for core marketing technology platforms, including CRM, email marketing, website/content management, experience management, analytics, and related systems.
  • Oversee day-to-day platform administration, configuration, data hygiene, user access, issue resolution, enhancements, integrations, and vendor coordination.
  • Manage system upgrades, testing, launches, and adoption plans in coordination with IT, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure platforms are maintained consistently, documented clearly, and used in ways that support the firm's brand, business development goals, and reporting needs.
CRM, Data & Analytics
  • Lead CRM strategy, adoption, data governance, reporting, and process improvement in partnership with business development, communications, events, finance, and IT colleagues.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data tools that help the team evaluate campaigns, engagement, experience data, contact quality, and business development activity.
  • Improve data capture and integrity across systems, including contact information, mailing lists, attorney activity, client engagement, experience records, and campaign results.
  • Use data and platform insights to identify opportunities for better targeting, segmentation, follow-up, measurement, and overall marketing effectiveness.
Project Management, Integrations & Process Improvement
  • Lead marketing technology projects from requirements gathering through implementation, training, rollout, documentation, and ongoing optimization.
  • Evaluate how the team uses project management and workflow tools and recommend improvements to intake, prioritization, visibility, and accountability.
  • Partner with other administrative teams to support appropriate integrations, data flows, access controls, and governance.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, training resources, system guides, and adoption plans for marketing technology tools.
Team, Vendor & Resource Management
  • Oversee marketing technology resources,
  • Manage vendor relationships, service levels, budgets, renewals, implementation timelines, and issue escalation for marketing technology platforms.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and day-to-day direction to team members responsible for marketing technology support and execution.
  • Promote a service-oriented, solutions-focused approach to technology support across the Marketing & Business Development team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant coursework or certifications in marketing, technology, business, data, or communications a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in marketing technology, marketing operations, CRM, digital marketing, or related roles, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment; senior-level candidates should bring deeper platform ownership and/or people leadership experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM, email marketing, website/content management, experience management, analytics, project management, and related marketing technology platforms.
  • Experience improving CRM adoption, data quality, reporting, segmentation, mailing lists, and marketing workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technology requirements, practical workflows, and clear implementation plans.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and change management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including attorneys, marketing colleagues, IT, finance, and outside vendors.
  • Strong communication, training, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
