Do it Best in Fort Wayne, IN invites a Marketing Strategy Intern for Summer 2027 to support the development of a comprehensive 2028 marketing plan. This hands-on role focuses on strengthening retailer understanding and participation in the True Value brand.

The internship, May 17–August 13, 2027, is paid hourly with local candidates encouraged to apply. A college credit option may be available, and no relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or related field.
• Coursework or projects related to marketing strategy, market research, branding, or communications.
• Experience creating presentations, marketing content, or research through coursework, internships, student organizations, or personal projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create strategic recommendations that demonstrate the value proposition of True Value and Do it Best Group.
• Develop creative communications for the brand program (sizzle reels, one pagers, podcasts, email marketing, paid social ads targeted at retailers).
• Conduct market and competitor research across independent home improvement and retail cooperative landscape.
• Evaluate competitor positioning, messaging, retailer support programs, marketing investments, and recruitment strategies.
• Provide differentiation and competitive advantage recommendations.
• Gather insights from marketing materials, retailer feedback, and industry trends.
• Analyze opportunities to enhance brand awareness and perceptions.
• Present findings and recommendations to marketing leadership.
