Office of Research & Partnerships (ORP) Marketing and Communications team at the University of Arizona is in search of a Marketing Specialist II. Working under the moderate guidance of the Web Manager, the Marketing Specialist II applies general knowledge of web content management, marketing writing, digital analytics, and SEO best practices, plans, creates, and executes digital marketing efforts-including website curation, updates, marketing copywriting, newsletters, and campaigns-to advance the initiatives, centers, museums, and programs within ORP. A primary focus of the role is keeping ORP’s web presence accurate, current, and on-brand and coordinating regularly with point people across ORP and developing and executing a systematic approach to updating and curating the full portfolio of ORP-related websites.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinates marketing activities for the Office of Research and Partnership's (ORP) centers and institutes including web presence.
  • Ensures sites and content are compliant and current with university standards and requirements.
  • Writes and edits marketing and promotional copy for web pages and related digital content, translating program, center, and initiative information into clear, engaging, audience-focused messaging (marketing/content writing for general audiences).
  • Coordinates with internal stakeholders across the ORP units to gather and prioritize updates.
  • Develops and maintains a repeatable process for reviewing, updating, and curating content across the full portfolio of ORP-related sites.
  • Plans, creates and executes digital marketing campaigns to support ORP’s enrollment, engagement, initiatives and outreach objectives with departmental stakeholders.
  • Reviews digital content for brand, accessibility, and quality standards to ensure compliance with university requirements with content contributors.
  • Advises stakeholders on digital marketing approaches to improve audience engagement with university partners.
  • Supports the development and distribution of email campaigns and the internal and external ORP newsletters, including setup, testing, and deployment.
  • Manages moderately complex web, email, and social media initiatives to support strategic priorities.
  • Interprets, complies and analyzes campaign metrics and engagement data via email and web channels monthly, quarterly and yearly to identify opportunities to optimize performance and campaign effectiveness with marketing colleagues.
  • Manages and maintains internal and external digital mailing lists gathered for various ORP campaigns, newsletters, and events.

  • Knowledge of digital metrics and analytics.
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging marketing and web copy for non-specialist audiences.
  • Ability to coordinate with and gather input from multiple units and stakeholders to keep web content accurate and current.
  • Ability to establish and maintain systematic processes and workflows for ongoing content curation and site updates.
  • Ability to think critically and make optimization decisions tied to brand strategies across multiple digital channels.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in completing tasks and reviewing information.
  • Ability to receive and apply feedback, adapt to changing needs, and continuously improve processes and performance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, graphic design, or related field.
  • Experience writing marketing or promotional copy for web and digital channels.
  • Experience working with email marketing and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce, Eventbrite, Mailchimp, etc.
  • Experience managing newsletters and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Experience maintaining and updating websites using a content management system (Drupal preferred).
  • Experience with web technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, etc.).
  • Experience with design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) for creating digital content.
  • Experience with email and digital marketing best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
