Job summary

Lochmueller Group in Louisville, KY seeks a Marketing Proposal Specialist to lead the full proposal lifecycle for infrastructure projects. You will write, edit, QA/QC, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to create compelling proposals and presentations.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in marketing or proposal writing in civil engineering, strong communication skills, and proficiency with InDesign and HubSpot; a driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of marketing and/or proposal writing experience; civil engineering preferred.
• Experience with proposal development for State DOT or infrastructure projects is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign; familiarity with WordPress is good.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot; strong editing and QA/QC skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend strategy and scoping meetings and prepare advanced project marketing materials.
• Direct proposal and presentation development including scheduling, material prep, and final production.
• Collaborate with project managers to prepare proposals and presentations.
• Write and edit proposal content and assist with printing, assembly, and QA/QC.
• Develop marketing materials such as newsletters, brochures, website content as needed.
• Utilize InDesign, HubSpot, and Kanvit to support proposal development.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Attending project strategy and scoping meetings before RFP release and preparing advanced project marketing materials
• Directing proposal and presentation development for assigned project pursuits, including scheduling, material preparation, and final production
• Collaborating with project managers from various departments to prepare proposals and presentations
• Writing and editing proposal content as appropriate and assisting with printing, assembly, and final QA/QC review
• Assisting with developing marketing materials, including newsletters, brochures, website content, and other materials as needed
• Using industry-standard tools such as Adobe InDesign, CRM platforms (HubSpot), and document automation/AI tools like Kanvit to support proposal development
• Performing other duties as needed

Qualifications for this role:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or related field preferred
• 3+ years of marketing and/or proposal writing experience. Experience with proposal development in the civil engineering industry or a closely related field is preferred
• Experience developing proposals for State DOT projects is preferred.
• Advanced working knowledge, or ability and willingness to develop advanced working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, WordPress or related software
• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot
• Experience participating in proposal strategy sessions, technical writing, and QA/QC process review
• Excellent communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to cross-reference information from one document to another
• Ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Ability to interview technical staff and capture and communicate information accurately in a way that both technical and non-technical people can understand
• Valid driver’s license
