Job summary

Simon & Schuster US is seeking a Marketing Manager for Atria Books to lead campaigns across memoirs and nonfiction, plus thriller titles. You will guide digital marketing, influencer partnerships and brand initiatives to maximize reach. A strong track record in creating successful campaigns is essential.

The role partners with authors, editors, sales and publicity to craft campaigns, build audience engagement and drive sales across platforms. 5+ years in book marketing required.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in book publishing or marketing.
  • Strong interest in nonfiction and thriller titles.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple campaigns.
  • Proven success in digital marketing and social media campaigns.
  • Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Atria Books is currently seeking a Marketing Manager.

Our team is a dynamic, diverse, creative group committed to our authors and to publishing their books for maximum impact.

Atria publishes a range of bestselling, and award‑winning fiction and nonfiction from authors including Colleen Hoover, Allen Levi, Brad Thor, Hannah Grace, Janet Evanovich, Vince Flynn, Zakiya Dalila Harris, Fredrik Backman, Lisa Jewell, Charlamagne Tha God, Taylor Jenkins Reid, Reyna Grande, Rebecca Serle, William Kent Krueger, and many more.

This role will focus on promoting memoirs, history, political and other nonfiction titles across categories, as well as major brand and fiction authors focusing on thrillers. We are looking for someone with 5 or more years of experience in book marketing who has a proven record of creating successful traditional and innovative campaigns for both fiction and nonfiction titles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead digital marketing initiatives across paid media, social platforms, email, influencer and creator programs, online communities, and emerging channels.
  • Develop campaign concepts and creative briefs in partnership with internal teams and external partners.
  • Partner with authors and agents on campaign strategy, platform growth, and reader engagement.
  • Build strategic toolkits to engage communities across nonfiction categories.
  • Collaborate with Editorial, Publicity, Sales, Publishing, and other teams to align strategy and execution.
  • Create customized marketing plans that identify target audiences, key messages, channels, partnerships, and opportunities to drive awareness, engagement, and sales.
  • Manage campaign budgets, paid media, timelines, and external vendors.
  • Track campaign performance and market trends, using insights to optimize strategy.
  • Test new platforms, technologies, and audience‑development strategies to evolve book launches.
  • Support seasonal planning, sales presentations, launch meetings, and imprint‑wide marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in book publishing, marketing, brand management, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge and genuine interest in nonfiction and thriller titles.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with authors, agents, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Highly organized project manager who can prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Must be well‑organized and able to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proven success in digital marketing, social media campaigns, and social media outreach.
  • Must be a creative and strategic thinker, as well as assertive and persuasive.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
