Work Schedule: Fully remote but must be located within the DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia area. Up to 10% CONUS travel is required.

Role Overview:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, overseeing marketing campaigns, analyzing market trends, and collaborating with cross-functional departments to achieve business goals, often requiring a deep understanding of the target audience and market dynamics to drive brand awareness and sales growth; they typically lead the strategic direction of marketing initiatives.

Specific Skillset

  • Strategic Planning: Crafting and implementing long-term marketing strategies aligned with company objectives, including market research, competitor analysis, and target audience identification.
  • Defense Industry Marketing: Leverage knowledge of marketing within the Defense Industry and to DoD customers.
  • Campaign Management: Overseeing the development, execution, and monitoring of marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, social media, print, trade shows and events, etc.) to achieve business objectives and drive growth.
  • Budget Management: Managing marketing budgets and timelines, allocating resources effectively, and tracking ROI on marketing initiatives.
  • Brand Positioning: Maintaining and enhancing brand image through consistent messaging and positioning across all marketing materials.
  • Market Analysis: Analyzing market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to inform sales and marketing decisions.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with other departments like sales, product development, and customer service to align marketing efforts with business goals.
  • Performance Measurement: Tracking key marketing metrics, analyzing campaign results, and making data-driven adjustments.
  • Relationships: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field.

Experience Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing to DoD customers.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop comprehensive marketing plans with a long-term vision.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong data analysis skills to interpret market trends and campaign performance.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to convey marketing strategies and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creativity: Ability to develop innovative marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Understanding of digital marketing channels and tactics (SEO, PPC, social media).
  • Website design and management experience is highly preferred (HTML, Java, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the US DoD industry landscape, customer behaviors, and market trends.
