AARP’s Fun & Fulfillment Marketing team is seeking an experienced and strategic Marketing Manager to support marketing programs that promote social connection among older adults. The contractor will lead the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, primarily across paid search and owned media channels (such as newsletters, mobile app, and internal communications).
This is a full-time, remote contract position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage marketing campaigns that align with AARP’s strategic initiatives and support social connection goals.
- Own the performance of marketing programs, driving key metrics such as traffic, engagement, and conversions.
- Design and execute paid search strategies, ensuring campaigns are optimized for reach and efficiency.
- Manage and grow owned media channels (e.g., newsletters, mobile app content, internal comms), crafting compelling messaging and content.
- Collaborate with internal partners on budget management, campaign timing, trafficking, message and creative testing, audience targeting, and reporting.
- Create persuasive, audience-tailored copy for digital channels, including newsletters, mobile app content, and social media.
- Utilize Adobe Photoshop to edit, resize, and enhance images for ads and social media, ensuring adherence to AARP brand standards.
- Contribute to special projects and other initiatives that promote social connection and engagement among AARP’s audiences.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of direct experience in Paid Search marketing (Google Ads, Bing, etc.)
- Minimum 3+ years of experience managing owned media channels (e.g., newsletters, mobile apps, internal communications)
- Strong hands-on experience managing end-to-end marketing campaigns, including creative, messaging, and testing
- Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone for various digital platforms
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop for light design and image editing
- Exceptional project management skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally with internal teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with organic social media campaign management
- Prior work within mission-driven organizations or large nonprofits
- Familiarity with martech tools like Smartsheet, CMS platforms, or analytics dashboards
