Job description

About the Role

SquadLocker is looking for a hands-on Marketing Specialist/Manager to own our email channel from end to end, keep our HubSpot instance running at peak efficiency, and bring structure and creativity to our lifecycle and content programs. You’ll sit at the intersection of strategy and execution—writing and scheduling weekly promotional emails, designing lifecycle journeys that move customers through the funnel, managing our social presence, and translating marketing data into clear insights that drive decisions.

What You’ll Own
Email Marketing
  • Plan, write, design, and deploy weekly promotional emails and content newsletters.
  • Manage the email calendar, ensuring timely scheduling and consistent brand voice.
  • A/B test subject lines, CTAs, and content to continuously improve open and click rates.
  • Monitor deliverability, list health, and compliance with CAN-SPAM requirements.
Lifecycle Marketing
  • Build and optimize automated lifecycle journeys: onboarding, re-engagement, post-purchase, and retention.
  • Define audience entry criteria, branching logic, and exit conditions for all active workflows.
  • Partner with sales and customer success to align nurture tracks with pipeline stages.
  • Regularly audit and refresh lifecycle programs based on performance data.
HubSpot Administration
  • Serve as the primary HubSpot admin—own the account configuration, data hygiene, and user access.
  • Build, maintain, and QA active and static contact segments to support campaigns and reporting.
  • Manage custom properties, deal stages, and list logic to ensure CRM accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and partner with engineering as needed.
  • Train internal stakeholders on HubSpot best practices and new feature rollouts.
Social Media
  • Manage SquadLocker’s organic social channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and others as relevant).
  • Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with promotional and seasonal priorities.
  • Write copy, source or create visuals, and schedule posts.
  • Monitor engagement, respond to comments and DMs, and grow community.
Paid Search & Social Partners
  • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for third-party agencies managing paid search and paid social.
  • Brief partners on campaigns, promotions, and audience priorities; review creative and copy before launch.
  • Track partner performance against KPIs; flag issues and drive optimizations in regular check-ins.
Analytics & Reporting
  • Own weekly and monthly marketing performance reporting across email, social, and lifecycle.
  • Track KPIs including open rate, CTR, conversion, unsubscribe rate, and revenue attribution.
  • Act on insights and recommendations.
  • Maintain dashboards in HubSpot and/or connected BI tools.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, or a generalist marketing role.
  • Proven HubSpot experience—ideally as an admin or power user (HubSpot certifications a plus).
  • Experience configuring third-party integrations with HubSpot (e.g., via native connectors, Zapier, or custom API integrations) strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to accelerate content creation, copywriting, and workflow documentation; knows when to use AI as a starting point and when to rely on human judgment.
  • Strong copywriting skills; you can write a compelling promotional email and a nurture sequence.
  • Comfort with segmentation logic, workflow automation, and CRM data quality.
  • Experience managing organic social media for a brand.
  • Data-driven mindset: you check the numbers, know what they mean, and act on them.
  • Highly organized and self-directed; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience in e-commerce, sports, or B2B2C environments is a plus.
