What You Will Do

As the Marketing Manager for Backpacker’s Pantry and Astronaut Foods, you will shape how our brands show up and are experienced across digital, social, retail, andother channels. You will lead the development and execution of marketing initiatives that build visibility, spark connection, and bring our brand stories to life. You will take ownership of campaigns from concept through launch, working with internal teams and external partners to move ideas into the world quickly and thoughtfully. This role is highly visible and externally focused, with opportunities to influence brand voice, creative direction, partnerships, and how we engage with our communities.

You will also play a key role in driving field marketing, events, and ambassador efforts, helping the brands build real presence beyond screens. While performance and results matter, this role rewards creative momentum, strong instincts, and the ability to learn and adapt as you go.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to amplify brand positioning, increase visibility, and strengthen customer loyalty.
  • Overseesocial media strategy and execution, including content creation, scheduling, community management, and analytics.
  • Develop successfulinfluencerand affiliate programs togrowbrand awareness.
  • Drive storytelling efforts through compelling content that resonates with our core customers and engages new audiences.
  • Build tactical marketing plans to support new product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotional initiatives.
  • Establisha field marketing calendar to grow awareness through in-person activations, ambassador relationships, and events.
  • Create and manage the annual marketing calendar, budget, and forecast, ensuring resources areallocatedeffectively to meet business goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to execute cohesive campaigns and creative initiatives.
  • Manage email and SMS marketing programs to increase customer retention and engagement.
  • Partner with eCommerce team to support Amazon and DTC marketing efforts.
  • Assist Sales team in the creation of trade marketing assets.
  • Analyze marketing performance data to assess ROI andoptimizecampaigns for better results.
  • Cultivate partnerships and sponsorships with outdoor organizations, educational programs, and other communities aligned with our brands.

Qualifications
  • - High school diplomarequired; college degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • - 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the outdoor or consumer packaged goods industries.
  • - Proven success in leading brand marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • - Strong knowledge of social media platforms, content creation, and analytics tools.
  • - Exceptional copywriting and storytelling skills, with an ability to craft compelling and on-brand content.
  • - Experience working with and managing agency partners, including PR, creative, and digital agencies.
  • - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • - Willingness to travelforfield marketing events, trade shows, and activations.
  • - Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • - Natural storyteller and creative thinker who loves connecting with people through authentic and engaging content.
  • - Ability to work from our Boulder office four days per week (Tues–Fri).
  • - Salary: $85,000 - $95,000/year, based on experience
