Job summary

The Director of Marketing & Broker Relations is responsible for executing strategies that drive membership growth, retention, broker engagement, market intelligence, and brand awareness across pooled insurance programs. This role serves as the primary resource for broker relations, market analysis, support of prospecting strategies and communication initiatives. The position works collaboratively to support sustainable growth, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and enhance the visibility and value of pooled insurance programs, as well as other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Functions
  • Development of member market share growth initiatives in support of strategic plan.
  • Support and recommend improvements based on market conditions and results.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand broker engagement, interest, and advocacy for all brands to consistently grow market share.
  • Manage prospect pipelines, outreach activities, and growth metrics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, members, and partners.
  • Facilitate onboarding, education, and engagement efforts with broker agencies and state associations.
  • Support member retention through ongoing communication, feedback collection, and relationship management.
  • Support member onboarding efforts.
  • Provide input and/or development of impactful marketing campaigns, educational materials, presentations, and communication tools.
  • Promote program services and maintain consistent branding and messaging.
  • Ensure brand messaging is consistent, positive, and reflective of our mission and service focus.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, industry events, and networking opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with leadership and operational teams to improve processes and support growth objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What Success Looks Like in This Role

Consistently improved market share across brands with growth and retention targets met. Broker and member relationships are strong and productive. Marketing and outreach efforts generate measurable engagement and opportunities. Market intelligence informs strategic decisions and program development. Onboarding and outreach to the broker network promote understanding of the value of pooling, increase in target segments, and participation in pool services. Collaborative approach with strong execution on strategic initiatives. Growth activities, reporting, and follow-up processes are organized and effective. Deliver engaging presentations and conversations that highlight our value, differentiators, and commitment to the brands.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in marketing, business, communications, insurance, public administration, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in business development, marketing, account management, insurance, member services, broker relations, or a similar relationship-based role.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with brokers, members, partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver engaging presentations and clearly communicate program value.
  • Experience developing or supporting outreach, engagement, retention, or growth strategies.
  • Ability to analyze market information, trends, feedback, and performance metrics to support strategic recommendations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage follow-up activities, pipelines, reports, and multiple priorities.
  • Professional, positive, and engaging communication style with a strong service orientation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments while also taking initiative and performing duties with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to use CRM, database, or tracking systems to manage activity and reporting.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for conferences, broker meetings, partner meetings, and industry events.
  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work remotely as business needs require.
Preferred
  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing or Business Administration.
  • Experience in insurance or risk management for nonprofit and/or public entity markets.
  • Knowledge of underwriting processes and broker distribution channels.
  • Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and training or educational program delivery.
  • Experience developing and delivering educational programs, webinars, or professional training.
Competencies

Strong communication, presentation, and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute outreach and engagement strategies. Ability to analyze data and market trends to support business decisions. Ability and willingness to travel for conferences, partner meetings, and events. Regular attendance is essential and expected for the effective operation of the company. Must have the ability to work remote as needed. Must be able to act on own initiative and perform duties with minimal supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or tracking systems.

Physical Requirements
  • Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone on a constant basis for at least 7-10 hours per day.
  • Speech and hearing are sufficient for in-person and telephone communication on a constant basis for at least 7-10 hours per day.
  • Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
  • Ability to sit at a desk on a constant basis at least 7-10 hours per day.

Annual Salary Range - $100,000 - $125,000 Pay Range 100000 - 125000 Annual The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
