RTI is seeking an experienced Marketing Events Manager to lead the strategy, planning, and performance of our global B2B events portfolio. This is a people-management position responsible for managing and developing the Marketing Events team while overseeing programs across North America, EMEA, and APAC.
The Marketing Events Manager will own a portfolio that includes trade shows, conferences, user events, seminars, webinars, sponsorships, and executive speaking opportunities. Working closely with Marketing, Sales, executive leadership, and other cross-functional partners, this leader will translate business priorities into high-impact event programs that strengthen the RTI brand, engage customers and prospects, and contribute to pipeline growth.
The ideal candidate combines strategic judgment, people leadership, operational excellence, and a data-driven approach to investment and performance.
Work Location: This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in our Denver, CO office.
What You'll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of event professionals, including setting priorities, managing performance, supporting career development, and allocating resources across the global event portfolio.
- Own RTI's global event strategy and annual roadmap, ensuring investments align with company, market, brand, and go‑to‑market priorities.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, regional leaders, and executive stakeholders to define event objectives, audiences, messaging, engagement strategies, and success measures.
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of virtual and in-person events across North America, EMEA, and APAC, ensuring consistent quality, brand expression, and attendee experience.
- Establish and continuously improve event processes, planning standards, tools, and governance to enable efficient, scalable execution.
- Own the global events budget, including annual planning, forecasting, expense management, vendor negotiations, and investment recommendations.
- Manage strategic relationships with agencies, venues, production partners, exhibit vendors, and other external suppliers; oversee contracts, pricing, performance, and service quality.
- Define event measurement frameworks, and partner with Marketing and Sales to ensure effective lead capture, follow-up, attribution, and reporting.
- Evaluate event performance using pipeline contribution, engagement, cost, and other business measures; lead post-event reviews, data‑driven analysis, and present recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
- Identify and assess new event and sponsorship opportunities based on audience needs, market priorities, competitive activity, and expected business value.
- Provide clear direction to cross‑functional event teams and ensure stakeholders understand roles, timelines, dependencies, and expected outcomes.
- Travel as needed to support priority events, including occasional evening or weekend commitments. Approximately ~8x/year.
What We're Looking For
- 5-7+ years of experience in corporate events, field marketing, experiential marketing, or a related discipline, preferably in a global B2B organization or agency environment.
- Demonstrated experience directly managing, coaching, and developing employees.
- Proven ability to develop event strategy and translate business objectives into integrated programs.
- Experience managing complex, multi-region event portfolios and multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Strong financial management experience, including budget planning, forecasting, vendor negotiation, and cost control.
- Demonstrated success in partnering with Sales and Marketing teams to connect event activity with engagement, pipeline, and business outcomes.
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
- Excellent program and project management skills, with a record of delivering complex programs on time and within budget.
- A data‑driven approach to performance measurement, prioritization, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to meet the position's travel and scheduling requirements.
- BA/BS or equivalent in Marketing, Communications or related degree.
