The Marketing Director will combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing marketing initiatives from concept through completion while ensuring projects remain on schedule, campaigns achieve measurable results, and the marketing department operates efficiently and collaboratively.
In this leadership role, the Marketing Director will lead and mentor the marketing team, collaborate with cross-functional departments, manage relationships with external marketing agencies, oversee creative direction for photoshoots and campaigns, analyze marketing performance, manage the company’s wholesale and e-commerce B2B platform (NuORDER), present marketing initiatives and results to leadership, and identify opportunities for continued business growth and market expansion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Annual Strategy: Develop and execute the company’s annual marketing strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Growth Initiatives: Establish short- and long-term marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales.
- Macro Planning: Lead the development of marketing calendars, seasonal campaigns, and product launch strategies.
- Executive Presentation: Present marketing strategies, campaign results, and recommendations during leadership and departmental meetings.
- Direct Supervision: Direct, coach, and develop the Marketing team.
- Workflow Delegation: Assign projects, establish priorities, and ensure marketing initiatives are completed on schedule.
- Timeline Oversight: Monitor project timelines and deliverables while maintaining quality standards.
- Department Culture: Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the marketing department.
- Team Alignment: Conduct regular team meetings to review project status, priorities, and performance.
Marketing Analytics & Reporting
- KPI Analysis: Analyze marketing performance using key performance indicators and analytics tools.
- Agency Management: Oversee and collaborate with the company’s external digital agency to monitor and optimize campaign performance, return on investment (ROI), website traffic, conversion rates, email performance, customer acquisition costs, and other key marketing metrics.
- Data Optimization: Use data to optimize marketing strategies and improve overall business performance.
Brand Management
- Brand Identity: Maintain and strengthen brand identity across all marketing channels.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure consistency in messaging, creative assets, and customer experience.
- Brand Standards: Oversee brand standards for digital, print, social media, advertising, packaging, and promotional materials.
Creative Direction & Photoshoots
- Photoshoot Leadership: Lead planning and execution of seasonal product photoshoots and marketing campaigns.
- Creative Alignment: Collaborate with creative partners to ensure brand consistency.
- Asset Approval: Review creative assets and marketing materials prior to publication.
- Concept Planning: Participate in creative concept development and campaign planning.
Digital Marketing
- Omnichannel Strategy: Oversee digital marketing strategies including: email marketing, social media, paid advertising, SEO/SEM/CRO, website content, and e-commerce marketing.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor website performance and recommend improvements to enhance the customer experience and increase conversions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Internal Partnership: Partner closely with Sales, Customer Service, Product Development, Design, Operations, Production, and Executive Leadership.
- Operational Alignment: Ensure marketing initiatives align with inventory availability, product launches, sales goals, and company priorities.
- Wholesale & Retail Support: Support wholesale and retail marketing efforts through collaborative planning and communication.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR THE ROLE
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive marketing experience in women’s apparel, including leadership responsibilities a must.
- Data Literacy: Strong analytic mindset with the ability to translate data into business decisions.
- Strategy Execution: Proven success developing and executing integrated marketing strategies.
- Leadership Skills: Experience managing creative projects and marketing teams.
- Organization: Excellent project management and organizational skills.
