Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, public relations, design, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, content creation, public relations, nonprofit communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
  • Experience developing content for multiple channels, including website, email, social media, print, presentations, and/or event collateral.

Responsibilities

  • Identify strong story angles, gather background information, coordinate with subject matter experts, conduct interviews, draft, and shape mission-driven content for target audiences.
  • Develop written and graphic content for website, email, social media, print collateral, donor communications, event materials, presentations, and other marketing needs following brand guidelines.
  • Draft press releases, announcements, talking points, and other materials in partnership with senior staff.
  • Assist with RFP-related content needs in partnership with internal stakeholders.
  • Support advertising and campaign execution by developing and adapting content for multiple formats and channels.
  • Coordinate asset management and shoots, including scheduling, logistics, and releases.

Marketing Content Specialist

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Marketing Content Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team at Greater Cincinnati Foundation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing compelling, audience-centered content for Greater Cincinnati Foundation's owned channels and supporting the execution of marketing and communications strategies that advance GCF's brand, mission, donor engagement, and community convening work.

This role supports storytelling, copywriting, creative content development, multimedia repurposing, creative asset coordination, and day-to-day marketing requests. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Content & Creative Strategy, the Marketing Content Specialist helps translate organizational priorities, donor and impact stories, community initiatives, and campaign messages into clear, engaging, and actionable content across print, digital, social, email, web, event, and collateral channels.

Essential Job Functions / Duties and Responsibilities:
Content Development & Storytelling
  • Support strategic storytelling by identifying strong story angles, gathering background information, coordinating with subject matter experts, conducting interviews, drafting, and helping shape mission-driven content for target audiences.
  • Develop written and graphic content for GCF-owned channels, including website, email, social media, print collateral, donor communications, event materials, presentations, and other marketing and communications needs following GCF brand and messaging guidelines.
  • Draft press releases, announcements, talking points, and other communications materials as assigned, in partnership with the Sr. Manager, Content & Creative Strategy and/or Sr. Director, Marketing & Communications.
  • Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP)-related content needs in partnership with internal stakeholders.
Creative Content & Campaign Support
  • Support advertising and campaign execution by developing and adapting content for multiple formats and channels.
  • Help identify key marketing needs, gaps, and collateral outages across the organization and recommend content or asset solutions.
  • Respond to internal marketing requests through the team’s ticketing or project intake process, helping clarify needs, gather information, coordinate next steps, and complete assigned deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Manager, Content & Creative Strategy to develop creative campaigns.
Multimedia, Repurposing & Creative Asset Coordination
  • Identify, recommend, and execute opportunities to repurpose existing written, visual, video, photo, and campaign content across channels to extend the reach and value of GCF stories and assets.
  • Coordinate photo and video shoots, including scheduling, logistics, shot lists, subject coordination, consent/release forms, and asset delivery.
  • Support multimedia content planning by identifying opportunities to turn stories, events, reports, and campaigns into social, web, email, presentation, and print-ready content.
  • Own and organize GCF’s creative asset management system, ensuring photos, videos, graphics, logos, templates, and other brand assets are properly stored, labeled, updated, accessible, and communicated to internal teams.
  • Coordinate asset collection from nonprofit partners, grantees, donors, vendors, photographers, and internal teams.
  • Maintain awareness of available creative assets and proactively recommend content for use in campaigns, storytelling, donor communications, and organizational materials.
Design & Production Support
  • Provide light graphic design assistance for social media graphics, presentation materials, event collateral, digital assets, and other basic design needs.
  • Assist with preparing materials for design, print, digital publication, and internal review.
  • Help ensure content and visual materials are accurate, polished, brand-aligned, and appropriate for the intended audience and channel.
  • Support the Sr. Manager, Content & Creative Strategy in coordinating creative deliverables, timelines, revisions, and final asset delivery.
  • Coordinate project details, timelines, source materials, edits, approvals, and deliverables to ensure assigned work moves forward efficiently.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, public relations, design, or related field preferred.

Required Skills / Abilities:
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills, with the ability to develop clear and compelling content for multiple audiences and channels.
  • Ability to translate complex or nuanced subject matter into accessible, audience-centered messaging.
  • Strong project coordination skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments, timelines, details, and internal requests.
  • Basic graphic design skills and an eye for layout, visual consistency, and brand alignment.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple internal clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with social media platforms, email marketing platforms, content management systems, or digital asset management systems preferred.

Salary Range : $58,000-$62,500

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
