Job description

MAKS is a globally recognized leader in rebuilding and remanufacturing automotive electronic modules, including TIPMs, ECMs, BCMs, and other critical vehicle control systems. We serve consumers, repair shops, dealerships, and commercial partners across North America.

We're a growing company that believes in doing things differently. From the technology that runs our operations to how we market our products, we value people who are creative, curious, willing to experiment, and excited to learn.

Our core values are:

Trailblazers - We challenge the status quo and embrace innovation.

Value of Reputation - We earn trust through the quality of our work and how we treat people.

Accountability - We take ownership and follow through.

Empathy - We consider the experience and perspective of others.

Evolve or Bust - We keep learning, improving, and adapting.

About the Role

We're looking for a creative, hands-on Marketing Content Coordinator to help bring the MAKS brand and products to life.

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys creating things - videos, photos, graphics, social content, and marketing materials - and wants to build a career in marketing.

You don't need years of professional marketing experience. We're more interested in your creativity, initiative, attention to detail, and ability to turn an idea into something people actually want to watch, read, or click.

What You'll Do
Content & Social Media
  • Help create and publish content for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other social platforms
  • Film and edit short-form and long-form video content, including Reels, Shorts, product demonstrations, educational videos, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Repurpose content across multiple platforms and formats
  • Brainstorm new content ideas and ways to make automotive electronics understandable and interesting to customers
  • Monitor trends and competitor content for new ideas and opportunities
Graphic Design & Creative
  • Design social media graphics, website assets, flyers, product inserts, signage, banners, sales materials, and other branded content
  • Create and modify marketing materials using tools such as Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Help maintain consistency across MAKS' visual brand
  • Prepare creative assets for digital advertising and other marketing campaigns
Photography & Video
  • Photograph automotive electronic products for our websites, marketplaces, retail partners, advertising, and social media
  • Edit and retouch product photography
  • Capture photos and video throughout our facility, including products, technicians, equipment, testing processes, and behind-the-scenes operations
  • Organize and maintain our library of photos, videos, graphics, templates, and other creative assets
Marketing Support
  • Help coordinate the ordering and reordering of printed materials, promotional items, signage, and other marketing supplies
  • Assist with website and e-commerce creative updates, including product images, category graphics, banners, and promotional content
  • Support email marketing with graphics and content as needed
  • Assist with vendor coordination, quotes, proofs, and marketing material orders
  • Provide general support for marketing projects, campaigns, and initiatives
What We're Looking For
  • Creative, curious, and excited to build things
  • Strong visual eye and attention to detail
  • Comfortable taking photos and shooting video
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar creative tools
  • Familiarity with social platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Comfortable learning new software and experimenting with new tools, including AI-powered creative tools
  • Strong organization and time-management skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Willing to spend time on our production floor capturing products, people, and processes - this isn't a desk-only marketing job
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and revising creative work

Automotive experience is not required. We'll teach you about our products and industry.

Experience

This is an entry-level position. Approximately 0-2 years of marketing, content, design, photography, video, or related experience is ideal.

Professional experience is not required. Relevant experience may come from:

  • Internships
  • School projects
  • Freelance work
  • Personal social media or YouTube channels
  • Photography or video projects
  • Student organizations
  • Other creative work

A degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, media, or a related field is welcome but not required.

Show Us What You've Made

If your application is selected to move forward, we'll ask you to share examples of your creative work.

We're not looking for a perfect corporate portfolio. Show us something you've made - a video you edited, photos you shot, graphics you designed, a social account you helped build, a YouTube channel, a school project, or another creative project you're proud of.

We care more about what you can create than where you created it.

Opportunity to Grow

This role is designed for someone who wants to learn and grow.

As you develop, you'll have opportunities to contribute to larger marketing initiatives and gain exposure to areas such as:

  • Digital advertising and paid media
  • Google Ads
  • E-commerce marketing
  • SEO and search strategy
  • Marketing analytics
  • Advertising creative and campaign strategy
  • Brand development
  • AI-powered marketing tools

You'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas - not just execute someone else's checklist - and expand your responsibilities as your skills grow.

Why MAKS?

You'll join a growing company where marketing directly impacts the business and where there's plenty left to build.

Instead of spending your first marketing job doing one repetitive task, you'll get exposure to content, video, photography, design, e-commerce, advertising, and brand development - and you'll see the work you create actually go live.

If you're creative, resourceful, eager to learn, and excited by the idea of building a marketing career by actually doing the work, we'd love to see what you can make.
