This is a remote position that may require periodictravel to events throughout the DMV.

SCI Summary:SCI supports people with disabilities, behavioral challenges, medically complex needs, transitioning youth, the elderly, and other populations using Maryland Department of Health's Targeted Case Management and Supports Planning work models.

Position Summary:The Marketing & Communications Specialist will be a key contributor to the growing Brand and Marketing function at Service Coordination Inc. (SCI), a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and complex needs. This newly created role will provide essential administrative and project management support for SCI's marketing and brand initiatives, ensuring alignment with our mission while uplifting and reinforcing SCI's value across all communication channels. Reporting to the Director of Brand Experience, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will collaborate on the development and execution of strategic marketing, branding, and engagement initiatives, working across departments to connect resources, develop compelling content, maintain project plans, and manage campaign schedules. The Marketing & Communications Specialist will work closely with the Marketing Manager and Director of Brand Experience to lead cross-functional marketing efforts, ensuring that SCI's impact is effectively communicated to external audiences, stakeholders, and the communities we serve.

Essential Duties

Marketing & Brand Support

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of marketing campaigns to enhance awareness and engagement with SCI's mission.
  • Support the creation and distribution of SCI-branded marketing materials, including brochures, reports, email communications, and presentations.
  • Assist in ensuring all marketing and communication efforts maintain brand consistency, accuracy, and alignment with SCI's messaging framework.
  • Support and maintain brand assets, templates, and guidelines to ensure internal and external compliance with SCI's visual and messaging standards.

Content Development & Storytelling

  • Support and edit engaging content for marketing channels like newsletters, the website, and other digital channels to showcase SCI's impact.
  • Assist in gathering and sharing stories, testimonials, and case studies that highlight the experiences of individuals supported by SCI.

Project Management Support

  • Support projects including marketing plans and campaign schedules, ensuring timely execution of deliverables.
  • Support cross-functional collaboration, serving as a bridge between departments to collect information and facilitate marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in tracking marketing efforts by monitoring engagement metrics, campaign performance, and analytics to inform future strategies.

Digital & Social Media Support

  • Assist in content development and engagement monitoring on digital platforms.
  • Support the execution of marketing campaigns, including list management and performance tracking.
  • Work with the team to analyze digital performance metrics and provide recommendations for content optimization.

Event & Community Engagement Support

  • Support event marketing efforts, including promotion, material development, and on-site logistics when applicable.
  • Assist in coordinating community outreach initiatives, ensuring alignment with SCI's mission and brand strategy.
  • Assist with development and distribution of marketing materials and brand assets.
  • Liaise with Design and Communications team to develop, update and manage project/campaign deliverables.
  • Serve as point of contact for internal support requests and, with Director of Brand Experience, manage Marketing & Communications intake process.
  • Manage branded merchandise requests and related vendor relationships.

Experience Required

  • 3+ years of professional experience in a marketing, communications or brand role.
  • Knowledge in brand development, experiential marketing, content creation, audience engagement and market research methods.
  • Experience supporting organizational processes and project management within a marketing or communications team.
  • Understanding of various marketing channels, tools and platforms including digital ( web, SEO, Social Media) and print.
  • Excellent storytelling, editing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, creative, and self-starter mindset.
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite and CRM), and applications (Web analytics, Google Adwords etc.)
  • Passion for SCI's mission and a commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities and complex needs.
  • A coachable professional with a growth mindset who values mentorship, thrives in a continuous learning environment, demonstrates adaptability and a positive temperament

Physical Demands:Generally, presents standard office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position >95% of the time. Continually operates a computer, keyboard and mouse, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, and mobile Smartphone device. Constantly positions self to comfortably maintain computer equipment. May occasionally be required to move about in an office setting or position office equipment weighing between 10-25 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. The person in this position frequently communicates with other people. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

IT Roles must be able to position self to maintain computers and equipment, including under desks and in server room(s). Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
