Temple Israel of Charlotte seeks a creative and organized Marketing & Communications Coordinator to tell our story and connect our congregation and the broader community with opportunities for Jewish life, learning, and engagement.

Under the Executive Director, this role manages day-to-day communications across email, social media, print, and website; maintains a communications calendar; assists staff with promotions and improvements based on audience engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in marketing/communications, with portfolio.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Proficiency with Canva or design tools; email and social media experience.
• Ability to create/edit short videos; layout experience helpful.
• Excellent organization and time management; meet multiple deadlines.
• Collaborative, able to take feedback and work independently.
• Discretion with confidential information and consent/privacy knowledge.
• Familiarity with Jewish traditions helpful; willingness to learn terminology.

Responsibilities

• Email communications: create, format, schedule, and send weekly emails and promos.
• Social media & video: plan posts, capture/edit content, monitor interactions.
• Graphic design & materials: design flyers, digital graphics, ads, signage, invitations.
• Publications & ads: produce Kol Yisrael newsletter; submit monthly ads.
• Website & planning: keep listings updated; maintain communications calendar and deadlines.
