Giddens School seeks a dynamic, creative, and organized Marketing and Development Manager to support the school’s advancement efforts. This individual will play a key role in telling the story of Giddens through compelling marketing content, managing digital and print communications, and supporting fundraising initiatives that engage and inspire the community.
Marketing Initiatives
- Demonstrate deep commitment to serving a school centered in progressive education and social justice mission and skills to engage community and all stakeholders to foster belonging and advance equity.
- Monitor and manage social media communications to enhance the school’s online presence.
- Implement strategies to develop awareness and to build the school’s reputation through website updates, advertising, special publications, information fairs and other events.
- Plan and implement advertising and promotion to achieve awareness and meet target goals.
- Design, promote and purchase Giddens gear to sell at school events.
- Oversee the production of print and electronic marketing materials.
- Organize and manage school photos and videos, including capturing images and creating visual content for school materials including the school website and yearbook.
Development Initiatives
- Coordinate and manage development-focused school events, including the Annual Fund, Spring Fundraising Event, and Generations Day.
- Support cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship efforts for individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
- Acknowledge all donations and update the donor database regularly with incoming gifts, pledges, and critical donor information.
- Coordinate research and applications for grant opportunities.
- In collaboration with the Head of School, lead and guide the Giddens Community Association (GCA) and classroom representatives on community-building opportunities.
Minimum Requirements
- All candidates must demonstrate competencies to advance the school's commitment to equity and justice.
- A desire to work in a diverse community.
- Strength in interpersonal skills by building genuine and longstanding relationships with a range of community members, volunteers, and other key stakeholders.
- At least 3 years of development, marketing, or fundraising, nonprofit or school experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, problem-solve, and meet deadlines.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Proficient in database management, including querying and reporting from relational databases.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Non-profit management or related field.
- Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
