POSITION: Marketing and Communications Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Center for Cultural Liberation
REPORTS TO: Associate Director
HOURS NEEDED PER WEEK: 10 (fall and spring semesters)
HOURLY RATE: $15.00
DATES OF EMPLOYMENT (APPROXIMATE): August 2026 - May 2027

JOB COMPONENTS//PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and distribute print and digital materials (flyers, newsletter, etc.)
- Retouch and manipulate images
- Use graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media
- Assemble presentation materials for CCL staff as needed
- Manage social media sites to share information about CCL programming
- Ensure proactive planning, communication and evaluation of Heritage events
- Participate in planning committee meetings (draft agendas, take notes)
- Serves on CCL planning committees, in collaboration with The Village and TDUS
- Provides 7-8 hours a week of in-person office hours
- Performs other duties as requested, delegated, or assigned
BASIC COMPETENCIES:
- Experience with Canva, InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
- Graphic design major/minor preferred or design portfolio
- Experience managing social media sites (Instagram, Facebook, Suitable)
- Experience with event planning and coordination
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment and still meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and follow- up skills
- Dynamic self-starter who takes initiative, is highly reliable and dependable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and proficient use of Microsoft office programs such as Word, Excel and Teams
