Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Statistics, Business, Economics or related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional market research, consumer insights, data analysis, or related business analytics experience.
  • Or advanced degree with 1–3 years of related experience.
  • Experience with survey platforms and data visualization tools such as Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, Power BI, Python or similar.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel 5–10%.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute market research projects from survey to reporting.
  • Support Yamaha Marine Customer Experience Program and governance activities.
  • Coordinate with external agencies to meet milestones and budgets.
  • Develop actionable reports, dashboards, and summaries for stakeholders.
  • Present findings clearly to drive informed decisions.

Job description

Yamaha is seeking fill a Market Research Manager role for our Marietta, GA location. This role performs professional-level market research and data analysis to develop insights, recommendations, andreportingthat support product planning, customer experience initiatives, marketing effectiveness, and Marine Business Unit strategy. The position independently manages defined research activities and recurring reporting processes while partnering with internal stakeholders, senior team members, and external vendors on more complex projects.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute definedquantitative and qualitative market research projects, includingsurvey development, programming, data collection,quality control, analysis, reporting, andpresentation development; apply professional judgment to identify trends, summarize findings, and recommend next steps.
  • Support and administer the Yamaha Marine Customer Experience Program, including day-to-day program coordination, vendor meetings, data monitoring, stakeholder reporting, quarterly reporting, town hall materials, and identification of program issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate assigned activities with external market research agencies to ensure project milestones, deliverables, costs, and research objectives are met; communicate risks, budget concerns, or scope changes to research leadership and help translate business needs into actionable research requirements.
  • Complete ad hoc research, analysis, and special projects for Marine Business Unit divisions and subsidiaries by gathering requirements, evaluating available data, developing clear outputs, and escalating complex or ambiguous issues as appropriate.
  • Develop actionable research reports, dashboards, presentations, and summaries that accurately address business objectives, communicate insights in a clear and concise manner, and support informed decision-making by stakeholders and management.
  • This role works with moderate independence to manage assigned research activities, recurring reporting, and defined project deliverables. The position applies professional knowledge, analytical judgment, and established research practices to resolve routine to moderately complex issues, prioritize work, recommend improvements, and determine when to elevate project risks, budget concerns, data limitations, or strategic questions to the department manager or senior team members.
  • Ability to independently support research projects from intake through reporting, including clarifying objectives, coordinating tasks, analyzing results, and preparing stakeholder-ready deliverables.
  • Experience reporting, presenting, and explaining research findings to business stakeholders in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
  • Working knowledge of advanced analytical methods, such asMaxDiff, conjoint analysis, key driver analysis, correspondence mapping, segmentation, or similar research approaches.
  • Strong curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with the ability to ask effective questions and identify implications within research findings.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify the underlying story, and translate findings into practical business insights and recommendations.
  • Proficiency developing professional PowerPoint reports, dashboards, visual summaries, and other communication materials for internal stakeholders.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and stakeholder communication skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and follow through on assigned deliverables.
What you need to be successful:
  • BA/BS degree in Marketing, Statistics, Business, Economics or a related field
  • 3-5years ofprofessionalmarket research, consumerinsights, data analysis, or related business analyticsexperience is required.

  • Advanced degree (MA/MS/PHD) in Market Research, Statistics, Business, Economics, or related field
  • 1-3years ofprofessionalmarket research, insights,or relevant data/analyticalexperience.
  • Experienceusingsurveyplatforms,analytical tools, and data visualization toolsis desired, such asQualtrics,SurveyMonkey, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or similar tools.
  • Experience and proficiency with MS Office
  • 5 – 10% travel required.
