Position Description
What This Position Is All About:

The Market Manager for the Western Market, operating remotely from the San Francisco Area, is responsible for driving sales, profit, and KPIs in a high-volume market. This is achieved through motivating communication, setting clear standards, creating actionable plans, and ensuring follow-up. Reporting to the District Manager, they uphold integrity, develop people, and foster engagement, nurturing a high-performance culture aligned with the company's core values. They leverage their understanding of the local demographic to implement strategic growth plans and consistently achieve results.

Primary Job Functions
  1. Achieve goals in Sales, Controllable Profit, EBITDA, Payroll, P&L, Email Capture, Proprietary Credit Card, Ship from Store, and Omni-Channel initiatives.
  2. Lead company initiatives, communicate objectives to the team, and work through direct reports to drive results.
  3. Support sales and customer service; motivate the team to meet sales goals, grow omni-channel presence, and execute company initiatives.
  4. Ensure adherence to HR policies, monitor performance, compliance, and hiring practices with the DVP.
  5. Manage training, IDPs, and team mobility; maintain a talent succession plan by recruiting and developing leaders.
  6. Hire, train, develop, and retain direct reports, preparing them for increased responsibilities and fostering internal mobility.
  7. Maintain fair practices in hiring, scheduling, promotions, and performance management.
  8. Handle poor performance and terminations in partnership with HR and Legal to improve team productivity.
  9. Oversee inventory strategies, store audits, and communicate policies to leadership.
  10. Supervise merchandise presentation and signage standards with the DVP.
  11. Partner with DVP to ensure merchandise aligns with customer preferences in the market.
  12. Coordinate with the Visual and Creative teams for appropriate merchandise presentation.
Qualifications
  1. 4-year degree preferred.
  2. Goal-oriented with ability to lead and motivate a team, managing company initiatives.
  3. Proficiency in technology including Google Suite.
  4. Ability to develop and execute strategic opportunities.
  5. Strong organizational skills and adaptability to change.
  6. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  7. Willingness to travel within the district.
  8. 8+ years leadership experience in high-volume retail or proven success managing sales teams.
  9. Proven skills in developing teams, managerial courage, business acumen, communication, results-driven, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Additional Information
  • Competitive salary range: $125,000 - $135,000/year, with potential additional benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
