Job summary

The Boston Beer Company is seeking a Market Manager for the Florida Panhandle, including Pensacola and Destin. The role is field-based and requires living in Pensacola, FL, with 40% travel to retailer and wholesaler sites.

You will execute sales objectives, grow brand visibility, and manage distributor relationships to drive depletion. A bachelor's degree and beer industry experience are preferred; performance bonuses are discretionary.

Qualifications

• 2+ years sales and/or food/beverage industry experience.
• Self-starter mentality with a competitive personality.
• Must be able to lift weight equivalent to one case of beer.
• Drive to and from accounts continuously with a registered vehicle.
• 40% travel to attend Retail and Distributor sales calls and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Execute internal sales objectives & improve account conditions using BBC systems and selling process.
• Grow brand presence in the Florida Panhandle through wholesaler management.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand multi-unit chains and key accounts.
• Deliver impactful presentations to wholesalers, accounts, and coworkers.
• Plan opportunities across the district using data and market insights.
• Build strong relationships with wholesalers and retailers and train teams.
• Manage district budgets and quarterly planning to meet BBC objectives.
• Conduct monthly/quarterly reviews to track progress toward goals.

Job Description

We are currently hiring a full-time, Market Manager for the Florida Panhandle. This role will cover the Florida Panhandle, including Pensacola and Destin, FL. The ideal candidate is required to live in Pensacola, FL*.

The Market Manager (MM) is responsible for increasing availability and visibility of Boston Beer portfolio of brands within their assigned distributor territory through direct selling and wholesaler management to generate depletion growth. Creating a value added wholesaler relationship within all levels of their organizations.

• Please note that while this position is listed as “ working remotely ” , our sales positions are field based and require you to live within the territory listed to visit accounts, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

What You'll Brew

• Execute internal sales objectives & improve account conditions using BBC systems and selling process.
• Learn and be proficient in beer industry knowledge, brewing, and BBC product styles
• Hunt for new business opportunities while growing current business in multi unit chains and key accounts
• Utilize effective verbal and written communication with wholesaler, accounts, and coworkers including ability to deliver impactful presentations
• Use internal and external data to plan and identify opportunities across the district
• Build strong relationships with wholesalers and retailers by providing leadership and training across defined geography
• Assist in the develop Goals, Strategies, Objectives and Tactics for the defined district
• Manage budget for given district and account base
• Conduct monthly/quarterly Planning & Review meetings to benchmark current progress to goal and sell BBC objectives
• Working conditions vary greatly day to day due to customer facing nature of role
• May be the periodic requirement to work weekends and holidays to support the needs of the business
• Occasional travel for meetings and trainings
• Regular travel in the market to service retailers and wholesalers

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $71,000 and $103,000 However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for an discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
