Job summary

Best Buy is seeking a Market Intelligence Decision Scientist to quantify how macroeconomic trends affect consumer behavior and company performance. You will apply economic theory and forecasting techniques to inform decisions across Finance, Strategy, Analytics, and Market Intelligence.

The role is hybrid—onsite Monday through Thursday at the Richfield, MN corporate office, with Friday remote work. You will translate data into actionable insights for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field
• 1+ years of analytics, retail, market research, or competitive intelligence
• 1+ years applying analytical techniques to business questions
• 1+ years leveraging data science and data visualization tools such as SQL and/or Python
• Strong project management skills, balancing multiple priorities
• Interest in economic data and its impact on consumer behavior
• Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain econometric and forecasting models quantifying macro conditions on performance
• Build analytical platforms for ongoing economic tracking and reporting
• Monitor forecasts and identify shifts, risks, and opportunities
• Triangulate insights across multiple data sources to support strategic decisions
