Job summary

Best Buy in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a subject matter expert within One Finance. You will partner with category merchants, sales channels, services, supply chain, capital planning and enterprise FP&A, delivering insight and strategic recommendations.

This hybrid role requires on-site work Monday through Thursday at the Richfield corporate office, with the option to work virtually from home on Fridays.

• Support monthly forecasts, month-end variance analysis, management reporting, annual budgeting, and long-range financial planning
• Deliver clear, insightful analysis and recommendations for business scenarios and help identify opportunities and solutions
• Communicate business risks and opportunities to leadership while formulating initial action plans
• Deliver in-depth modeling and analysis that supports transformational efforts and strategic growth opportunities

Job description

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you’ll act as a subject matter expert within your specific capability of One Finance. You will support areas including category merchants, sales channels, services, supply chain, capital planning and enterprise financial planning and analysis. Over time, you’ll have the opportunity to change the area you support to continue learning and growing your skillsets.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you’ll do

• Partner with key functional areas to analyze financial performance including revenue and profitability, enterprise operating income, SG&A, market share, and growth drivers
• Support our financial rhythms including monthly forecasts, month-end variance analysis, management reporting, annual budgeting, and long-range financial planning
• Deliver clear, insightful analysis and recommendations for business scenarios and help identify opportunities and solutions
• Communicate business risks and opportunities to leadership while working to formulate initial action plans that mitigate risks and maximize opportunities
• Deliver in-depth modeling and analysis that supports transformational efforts and strategic growth opportunities

Basic qualifications

• 1 years of work experience in a finance or accounting capacity
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 3 years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), business analytics, or planning
• 3 years of financial analysis experience within a large, complex organization
• 3 years of experience in a consumer-facing organization such as retail, airline, transportation, hospitality, travel, logistics, consumer products, or other high-volume customer-focused organization
• 3 years of experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting
