Job summary

Hy-Vee in Osceola, IA is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to join our fast-paced store kitchen team. You’ll serve made-to-order items, greet customers with a smile, and help create a warm, welcoming experience for every guest while maintaining food safety and quality.

No education is required; we provide all the training you need. You’ll take orders, manage daily prep, stock products, operate the register, and work with teammates to ensure accuracy and outstanding service on every shift.

Qualifications

• No education requirement; we will provide all the training you need to succeed
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus
• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work with concrete variables

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly, providing helpful service including taking product orders
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure an adequate food supply is ready and on hand
• Handle food safely and review the status and appearance of food for freshness at all times
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout your shift
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed
• Run the department register, receive payment, and make change where applicable
• Remove trash in a timely manner and wash dishes as necessary
• Price and order product and deliver orders as needed
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
• Report to work when scheduled and on time
