Job summary

Qualifications

• No formal education required; training provided by Hy-Vee.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service at the Market Grille counter and greet customers with a smile.
• Take customer orders and answer the telephone promptly, offering helpful service and product orders.
• Review daily orders, anticipate needs, and prep or replenish products as necessary.
• Pull product from cooler/freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure adequate supply.
• Handle food safely and monitor freshness and hygiene throughout the shift.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and follow Hy-Vee policies and safety guidelines.
• Operate the department register, process payments, and provide correct change where applicable.
• Assist in other store areas and participate in special projects as assigned.
