Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Market Grille Department Manager to lead a fast-paced kitchen/market team and drive exceptional customer service and department profitability.

You will set standards, recruit and train staff, and coordinate with store leadership to ensure quality food and a smooth operation. The role requires night and weekend shifts, strong communication, pricing accuracy, and hands-on supervision in a store kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; sanitation coursework helpful.

Responsibilities

• Set and uphold department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, appearance and profitability.
• Lead by example, greet customers, learn names, and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, discipline, and evaluate department staff; approve discipline and salary actions.
• Plan displays, promotions, pre-orders, pricing and department inventory; manage weekly schedules and daily work plans.
• Analyze weekly sales trends vs. actuals and project ads; ensure proper temperatures and storage procedures.
