Job summary

Hy-Vee seeks a Market Grille Department Manager to lead a fast-paced kitchen and restaurant team, driving service standards, food quality, and department profitability. You will partner with store leadership to ensure the department runs at its best every day.

You will recruit, train, schedule, control inventory, set pricing, and coach staff while ensuring safe food handling and customer satisfaction. This is an hourly role with a starting wage of $18.00–$22.50 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience required; sanitation coursework helps.
• Over one year of related work experience required.
• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set and maintain department standards for service, cleanliness, and profitability.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff; manage schedules.
• Determine goals with store leadership and oversee inventory, pricing, and displays.
• Analyze sales trends and projections; coordinate promotions and pre-orders.
• Ensure proper food handling, temperature controls, and sanitation throughout shift.
