Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to join our store team. You will provide warm, efficient service, take orders, manage daily prep, and help keep the Market Grille running smoothly in a fast-paced food service setting.

Qualifications

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions.
• Work effectively as part of a team to deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service at the Market Grille counter.
• Take customer orders and answer the telephone promptly, including product orders.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and replenish as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure supply.
• Handle food safely and monitor freshness and quality.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout the shift.
• Operate the department register and handle payments as needed.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects.
