Job summary

As an hourly Market Grille Cook, you’ll keep the food case stocked, greet guests, and ensure every order is made with care. Training is provided, with emphasis on food safety and sanitation in a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and making every interaction a positive one.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and all menu items including vegetables, sides, meats, breakfast foods, and heat-and-eat varieties.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as necessary throughout your shift.
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to keep the department running smoothly.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Market Grille operation.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep your work area clean and organized at all times.
• Order product and supplies as needed or notify department managers of any needs.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
• Report to work when scheduled and on time.
