Job summary

Hy-Vee is hiring a Market Grille Cook to prepare hot and cold menu items and keep the food case stocked. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen, deliver friendly, prompt service, and ensure accurate orders while maintaining high sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include menu prep, guest interactions, shift preparation, and collaboration with team members to provide a great in-store dining experience.

Qualifications

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and all menu items including vegetables, sides, meats, breakfast foods, and heat-and-eat varieties.
• Maintain food case stock and ensure orders are made with care.
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and making every interaction a positive one
• Prepare cooking surfaces and all menu items including vegetables, sides, meats, breakfast foods, and heat-and-eat varieties
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as necessary throughout your shift
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to keep the department running smoothly
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Market Grille operation
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep your work area clean and organized at all times
• Order product and supplies as needed or notify department managers of any needs
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards, and all Hy‑Vee policies and store guidelines
• Report to work when scheduled and on time
