Job summary

Hy-Vee Market Grille is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to join our store team. You will greet customers, take orders, prepare and replenish items, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen area. Prior food service experience is a plus, with on-the-job training provided.

This hourly role emphasizes fast-paced service, accurate handling of orders, and teamwork to ensure a positive dining experience for every customer in our store.

Qualifications

• No education requirement; Hy-Vee provides training
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus
• Ability to learn quickly and work as part of a team to serve customers

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and replenish as necessary
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure adequate supply
• Handle food safely and check freshness throughout shifts
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area and assist with other tasks as needed
