Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to join the Market Grille team in a fast-paced store kitchen environment. You will greet customers, take orders, prepare and replenish products, and ensure food safety and cleanliness throughout your shift.

Responsibilities include serving made-to-order items, handling POS transactions, and collaborating with coworkers to provide a welcoming experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• No education requirement; we will provide all training needed.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile and making each visit positive.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone, including taking product orders.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure adequate food supply.
• Handle food safely and monitor freshness at all times.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout your shift.
• Operate the department register, receive payment, and make change where applicable.
• Remove trash and wash dishes as necessary.
• Price and order product and deliver orders as needed.
• Work with coworkers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects.
