Responsibilities

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi‑specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 12 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Our leadership team, practitioners, and teams of healthcare professionals are collectively dedicated to improving the health and wellness of people in the communities we serve.

Position Overview

The Market Director provides leadership, direction and ongoing administration and management within a designated market for all operational aspects of IPM’s physician practices. He or she ensures that policies and procedures are implemented for efficient, effective management of all programs. The role includes direct supervision of Practice Managers and/or Practice Administrators and overall responsibility for all aspects of the care centers, financial and operational performance, and accountability to communicate and implement corporate strategic initiatives to meet program goals and objectives. This position is located within IPM’s market located in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain direct supervision of providers while ensuring policies and procedures are implemented for efficient, effective management of all programs.
  • Have overall responsibility for all aspects of the care centers, financial and operational performance and be accountable to communicate and implement corporate strategic initiatives to meet program goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the recruitment of physicians to develop and grow provider base, including networking and interviewing. Oversee credentialing, contracting and onboarding process.
  • Collaborate with market leaders to monitor performance indicators ensuring practice objectives and goals are met (e.g., pro‑fee billing training, compliance and timely credentialing).
  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with hospital administration leaders and market providers.
  • Engage and collaborate with market partners in the implementation of telehealth initiatives, processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate service excellence and convey professionalism at all times with strong motivation to achieve optimum results.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health or Business Administration is required. A Master’s degree in health or business administration and/or certification by the American College of Medical Practice Executives is preferred.

Experience

  • Three to five years of physician practice management or health care management experience is required.
  • Experience in managing multiple physician locations across a geographic area with at least 20 physicians is required.
  • Strong understanding of the financial management, business and clinical operations of a medical group practice.
  • Knowledge of fiscal management techniques, revenue cycle management and third‑party reimbursement.
  • Knowledge of health care administration systems.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications.
