Job summary

Principal Asset Management is seeking a Market Director - Advisory to expand Broker-Dealer and RIA relationships across a designated territory in the United States. You will deliver market insights, portfolio construction guidance, and investment solutions to help advisors grow their businesses and better serve clients.

You will lead with internal wholesalers, manage meetings, and drive opportunities while educating clients on funds, ETFs, model portfolios, SMAs, and retirement solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial services experience in investment sales or advisor management.
• Strong knowledge of investment products and portfolio construction concepts.
• Proven ability to develop and manage advisor relationships across BD and RIA channels.
• Experience presenting to financial professionals and leading educational events.
• Familiarity with advisor platforms such as Envestnet or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a designated territory with Internal Wholesalers to meet sales goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with financial professionals through meetings and consultations.
• Drive new business opportunities and support asset retention initiatives.
• Consult with advisors on a broad range of investment solutions (mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, etc.).
• Provide market insights, portfolio construction guidance, product education, and performance information.
• Identify advisor needs and recommend strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Support product launches, key accounts, and marketing campaigns.
• Create and deliver sales presentations, workshops, and educational events.
• Respond to advisor inquiries and provide sales/marketing materials; assist with escalated service issues.
• Maintain CRM records of advisor interactions and activities.
• Travel up to 50% as needed.
