Position Summary

As a Market Development Manager - Bioprocessing, you are responsible for outlining market strategy and points of entry into the Bioprocess market with the goal of achieving consistent growth with IH&S fluidics products. IH&S designs and develops high-performance fluidic components and sub-assemblies for use in advanced laboratory equipment in life science applications.

This key role requires an individual experienced in the bioprocessing space with strategic vision for new product innovation and strong skills in team collaboration. The market development manager champions our path in bioproduction markets and acts as the market expert, understanding and communicating trends, applications, and growth rates. They define and communicate value propositions for points of entry options. While collaborating with cross-functional teams, they set the innovation roadmap. This role also addresses channels to market, support mechanisms, and ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction.

This role charts the course for and is ultimately responsible for top-line growth in the bioprocessing space.

Externally, the Market Development Manager will gather voice of customer and maintain industry relationships with thought leaders. Internally, the Market Development Manager works closely with sales, engineering, product management, operations, and quality.

What will you do?

Your primary focus is creating the strategic vision for growth in the bioprocessing space, setting the innovation roadmap to deliver on that vision. This includes topline revenue responsibility and serving as an advocate for key customers. You will influence the overall direction of the business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and Championing Growth Plan: Develop and implement a strategic plan to drive profitable growth with new products and offerings in the bioprocessing space. Collaborate with customers, operations, sales, engineering, and market development to identify opportunities and develop a roadmap.
  • Product Development and Innovation Roadmap: Develop plans for growth and address customer problems through our product and innovation roadmap, gathering voice of customer (VoC) and generating business cases for new products or enhancements.
  • Planning: Support activities related to setting the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), reporting, and forecasting.
  • Key Customer Advocate: Support one or more key customers, helping remove obstacles and ensuring alignment with customer needs.
  • Industry Relationships and Voice of Customer: Maintain relationships with industry thought leaders and support the sales team in gaining new customer relationships.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Anticipate competitor reactions, perform benchmarking, and develop market insights through research and analysis.
How will you do it?

Bring enthusiasm and clear objectives. In the first 6 months, you will:

  • Learn the business’ products, customers, and competition.
  • Identify growth and entry options in the bioproduction space.
  • Establish product/innovation roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product management on product development.
  • Align with sales on key customer accounts.
  • Contribute to financial planning and market trend analysis.
  • Support strategic planning and product development activities.
What do we need?
  • 5+ years experience in Bioprocessing or related space.
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or MS preferred.
  • 5+ years product or market management experience, especially in life sciences.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Technical understanding of products.
  • International experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Characteristics

You should be results-driven, a self-starter, with strong interpersonal, team-building, and leadership skills. Customer focus, integrity, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and excellent communication are essential. Ability to travel approximately 30% and operate in a complex matrix organization is required.

You must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Total Rewards

The salary range is $136,500 - $204,700, with potential performance bonuses.
