A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The Reimbursement Manager (m/f/d) at Tandem Diabetes Care Germany is responsible for establishing and maintaining optimal reimbursement pathways for Tandem's innovative insulin pump therapy products within the German healthcare system.
This role involves strategic engagement with statutory and private health insurers (GKV and PKV), as well as key stakeholders at both regional and federal levels.
The Reimbursement Manager will lead efforts to secure market entry, shape reimbursement models, and foster collaborative partnerships with payers, ensuring alignment with current market dynamics and value-based healthcare trends.
Market Access Strategy Development
Stakeholder Engagement
Builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including payers, government agencies, and clinical decision-makers.
Conducts meetings and presentations to articulate the clinical and economic value of the company’s Device within assigned regions.
Reimbursement Support
Internal Collaboration
Partners with HEOR and Medical Affairs to generate and present evidence demonstrating the cost-effectiveness, medical policy evolution and value of the company’s medical devices.
Collaborates with sales, marketing, HEOR, Medical affairs and regulatory teams to align market access strategies with broader business objectives.
Prepares weekly and monthly sales reports as requested by Sales Management within required deadlines.
Serves as the internal expert and primary point of contact on all payer related issues within the assigned region(s); ensures relevant and timely payer coverage information is communicated to appropriate internal and external stakeholders; provides input and feedback regarding contracting strategies and ensures that all contracting governance requirements are met.
Acts as a strategic partner for field teams, identifying opportunities for growth and regional alignment.
Supports cross-functional teams as a Market Access partner offering tailored support around reimbursement, market access topics and demonstrates effective communication.
Market Intelligence
Monitors and reports on regional healthcare policy developments, issues, payer trends, and competitive landscape.
Utilizes market insights to adapt strategies and ensure alignment with regional needs.
Analyzes local access issues and opportunities in regional healthcare landscape.
Product Knowledge and Strategy
Develops and maintains deep understanding of Tandem product, disease state, clinical data, commercialization strategy and further customer engagement by providing deep insights/expertise around the disease continuum and customer insight on trends, market conditions and changes in formulary/medical policies.
Analyzes, develops and executes on payer strategy and initiatives removing access barriers, new and expanded coverage for product portfolio
Proactively identifies and recommends new payer growth opportunities for the product portfolio
Identifies evidence gaps, market access requirements, provides input product value propositions and outcomes needed to support regional payor impacts.
EXTRA AWESOME:
Strong understanding of healthcare economics, market access fundamentals, and stakeholder engagement within the medical device industry.
Bachelor's degree in a life science, business or marketing or a combination of equivalent education and applicable job experience.
Healthcare Market Access experience, preferred
Diabetes and medical device industry experience
Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
Willingness to travel approximately 50% within Germany.
