Job summary

AVTEC, a division of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development, is recruiting for an AVTEC Instructor who will serve as an instructional subject matter expert, and the leader of the Alaska Maritime Training Center (AMTC).

The role oversees planning, development and delivery of training programs, and supervises six full-time Instructors, adjunct instructors, as well as a maritime advisory board, grant initiatives and special projects, and serves on the AVTEC leadership team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, development and delivery of AVTEC training programs.
• Optimize use of assessment and training technologies such as the fire trainer and full mission bridge simulator.
• Direct supervision of six full-time instructors, adjunct instructors, and a maritime advisory board, grant initiatives and special projects.
• Serve on the AVTEC leadership team.
