Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is seeking a Tooling and Equipment Design Engineer for its Maritime Manufacturing Technology Team in Costa Mesa, CA.

You will develop tooling, equipment, and layouts to support new maritime production facilities, leveraging CAD and digital twins to drive efficient, on-time start-up of facilities. The role requires 5+ years designing tooling for manufacturing, hands-on production experience, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing tooling, equipment, and processes for manufacturing technology development, simulation modeling, or production engineering.
• Experience with tooling and equipment for large-scale manufacturing.
• Hands-on work in a manufacturing environment to optimize production systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling and equipment integrating with factory machinery and robotic welding equipment to enable lean production.
• Support tooling integration, commissioning, and certification in prototype and production development.
• Develop and validate tooling concepts to meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing tech, facilities, and suppliers to source and assess equipment.
• Communicate on the floor with engineers and manufacturing staff to maintain mission focus.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver production system designs and support external vendors.
